We use this graph the most because it shows the rent range in the South Bay. LAX rents are normally the highest. Newer, higher ceilings are a premium and there’s a wide selection. Low rents are caused by low ceilings, poor loading, and a few areas have become unfavorable because of RV encampments.
Total Cubic Foot is a common way to measure warehouse capacity. It increases the buildings usefulness as ceiling heights become taller. Most warehousers, Amazon included, will rent by the square foot but charge their customers on the cube.
Here are the same properties mapped. The two most important industrial drivers are LAX and San Pedro Bay. It’s created a large warehouse/distribution industry. There is also high tech manufacturing related to aerospace and defense.
